What to Expect

The Night of Your Study

Below you will find answers to some of the common questions about preparing for a sleep study.  You will also find some important instruction to follow before your sleep study.

When You Get Here….

When you get to our front door, you will see a silver “doorbell” and camera. If you would click on that button, one of our night techs will answer as quickly as possible. They may not answer immediately but they will answer. If you want to ring it twice, they won’t get mad….they just may not get to there any faster.

You may have to wait in our Lobby for a few minutes while the tech is hooking up another patient. We stagger the arrival of patients to allow time to hook up each patient as well as attempt to avoid wait times for the next patient. Therefore, it is not beneficial to be early, however; it is very important that you make every effort to be on time for your sleep study.

Sleep Study Info and FAQ’s

Before You Arrive

Please arrive for your study showered with clean hair, without any styling products.

Please do not apply lotions, oils, make-up or any products to your skin.

What to Wear

You are encouraged to arrive in “normal” clothes.  You will have the opportunity to change once you arrive.

You will need to wear pajamas (modest please) or a t-shirt with shorts/pants for the entire study.

What to Bring

You may want to bring a robe to wear while you are in public areas.  It is possible to see another patient or sleep tech in the hallway.

Although pillows and blankets are provided, you may want to bring you own.

The morning after your study you will have an opportunity to shower, if desired.  We provide towels, soap and shampoo.  However, you are welcome to bring your own toiletries.
